Terms and Community Rules

These terms are between you and the publisher of the SYB app and sybthenight.com, named as the seller on the app's App Store page ("we", "us"). By tapping Enter in the app, or by confirming the card in the chat on the website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use SYB.
1. What SYB is
SYB is a free fan app and a web edition at sybthenight.com/talk: music, sets, short clips, a live stream, a chat with SYB and a community called the fam. There are no purchases and no ads.
2. Who can use it
You must be 13 or older to use the chat and the fam. If you tell us you are under 13, the music and clips stay open to you and the chat and fam stay closed. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm a parent or guardian is fine with you using SYB.
3. Your account
Everyone gets a private anonymous identity when they open the app, or when they first tap or type on the website, so no sign-up is needed. On the website that identity lives in your browser: if you clear your browser data or sign out of the device, you lose access to it. You can link it to Sign in with Apple to keep your likes, playlists, chat and handle if you change phones. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Your handle must be yours to use: no impersonation, nothing offensive, nothing that looks like staff or a moderator.
4. Community rules: zero tolerance
There is no place in SYB for objectionable content or abusive users. We act on it fast and without warning. Do not post, send or share anything that:
- is hateful, harassing, threatening or bullying, or targets someone for who they are
- is sexual, sexually explicit or exploits or endangers minors
- is violent, gory, or encourages self-harm, dangerous acts or illegal acts
- shares someone's private information, or your own, such as phone numbers, addresses or accounts
- is spam, a scam, an advert, a link to something harmful, or pretends to be someone else
- copies music, clips or images you do not have the right to share
- tries to break, scrape or overload the app or its services
If you break these rules we remove the content and may remove your access, permanently, without notice. Repeat or serious cases are reported to the authorities where the law requires it.
5. Reporting and blocking
You are in control of what you see.
- Report. In the app, press and hold any message in the chat or the fam and choose Report. On the website, use the flag under a reply from SYB, or the options on a message in a room. Every message can be reported.
- Block. Block any member from their profile or message. They disappear from your view, and you can unblock them in Profile at any time. There are no private messages between members, only channels.
- Our response. A person reviews every report. We act on reports within 24 hours: we remove content that breaks these rules and remove the members behind it.

6. Chat with SYB: automated replies
Replies from SYB are automated. They are generated by software, not written live by a person, and SYB is a character, not a human being. Replies can be wrong, can miss the point, and are not advice of any kind. Do not rely on them for anything that matters, and for an emergency contact the local emergency number. Do not share personal details in the chat.
The chat has limits: a daily message limit (40 in the app, lower on the website, where the message box tells you when you are close) and 500 characters per message. We filter messages and replies for harmful content, and SYB will not answer some things. Your messages are saved so your conversation is there next time, and may be reviewed to enforce these rules and keep the service safe.
7. Your content
You keep the rights to what you write. By posting in the fam you give us a worldwide, free licence to store, display and distribute it inside SYB and to remove it. Please only post what you wrote yourself or are allowed to share.
8. Our content
The music, clips, covers, artwork, name and logo are ours or licensed to us. You may stream and watch them in the app for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may not copy, rip, resell, scrape or build anything on top of them without our written permission.
9. Founding fam numbers
Founding fam numbers are an honorary thank you to early members. They have no monetary value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be withdrawn if an account is removed.
10. The service
SYB is provided free and as it is. Features, limits and content can change, and the app may be unavailable from time to time.
11. Ending things
You can stop using SYB whenever you like. To delete your account, go to Profile, then Delete account in the app, or Settings and my data on the website. This removes your profile, handle, chat history, likes, playlists and messages. We can suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.
12. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, SYB is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what other members post. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
13. Apple
This section applies to the iOS app only. These terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content, for maintenance and support (contact us at savageyungblanc@gmail.com), and for any claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance, privacy, and intellectual property. Apple has no warranty obligation for the app beyond refunding any purchase price, and since SYB is free there is none. You confirm you are not on a restricted-country or prohibited-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Changes
If we change these terms in a meaningful way we will ask you to accept them again in the app. The latest version is always at sybthenight.com/app/terms/.
